Use descriptions for context, notes for quick thoughts. The description field is meant for full detail — what the task is, why it matters. Notes are for quick reminders you want visible at a glance.
Set due dates on anything time-sensitive. Only tasks with due dates appear on the Calendar view. The Dashboard "Due Soon" panel shows the next 7 days, so set dates to keep your radar current.
Subtasks are great for checklists. If a task has 3–5 distinct steps, break them into subtasks. The parent card shows a progress bar so you can see completion at a glance from the board.
Log time in real-time. The time tracker works best when you log immediately after working. Use the note field to capture what you actually did — it becomes a lightweight work log.
Use the Overdue filter on Monday mornings. Start the week by clicking "Overdue" on the board and either rescheduling or completing any stale tasks before adding new ones.
Search is instant. Hit ⌘F from anywhere. Results cover titles, descriptions, and notes, so you can search for a word you remember from the task body even if you forgot the title.
Attach files while the task is fresh. Screenshots, briefs, reference docs — attach them during creation or immediately after so they're there when you come back to the task.
